Q: Where is the conference located?
A: KAUST Research Conference: Emerging Concepts and Materials in Solar Energy Conversion" will take place in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) from Monday, October 31 to Wednesday, November 2, 2016. KAUST is located in Thuwal, which is one hour north of Jeddah. Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) is accessible from many main international flight hubs, including Frankfurt, London, New York and Washington D.C.
Q: How do I register for the Conference?

registration deadline for non-KAUST participant is September 30.
Q: What is the registration fee?
A: There is no registration fee, but conference attendees (excluding invited speakers and two accompanying group members) are expected to cover the costs of travel and accommodation at KAUST. Detailed information regarding travel, visas, accommodation, meals and the conference program will be shared from July 14 onward.
Q: How do I book for accommodation?
A: Upon registration, a member of conference organizing team will contact you to organize further details, such as your accommodation and visa. The team will book a room at the KAUST Inn hotel located on the KAUST campus on your behalf.
Q: What is the price of rooms at the KAUST Inn?
A: The following are the KAUST Inn rental rates:
Standard room: SR 800/night
Hotel Suite: SR 900/night
Hotel Junior Suite: SR 1000/night
Hotel Executive Suite (two bedrooms): SR 1200/night
Q: What is the policy in case of cancellation of a hotel reservation before the event?
A: The deadline for cancellation without penalties is October 9, 2016.
Q: How can I participate in poster session?
A: To register, simply forward your names, affiliations, title and poster to email@example.com by October 20, 2016. All selected posters will be printed in the KAUST copy center (sponsored by KAUST Solar Center). Here are the important dates:
05:00 pm: Deadline for title and poster submission
05:00 pm: Notification of selected posters
3:00 – 4:00 pm: Poster setup
7:00 – 9:00 pm: Judges viewing
12:15 pm: Poster winner announcement
Q: What is the guideline for poster?
A: Here are some guidelines for the poster competition:
- Poster should be sent in PDF format, portrait layout and A0 size (841mm x 1189mm or 33.11" x 46.81").
- Authors are expected to be by their posters during the poster session to answer questions from judges and attendees.
- Participants are responsible to remove and collect their poster after the conference. Unclaimed poster will be discarded.

A: Yes, KAUST Library is open 24 hours and offers workstations and a quiet space for work and study. Wi-Fi is also accessible everywhere in the KAUST campus.
Q: What should I wear at KAUST?
A: November at KAUST will be warm and likely pleasantly breezy with the possibility of a chance of a rain. Smart casual attire is required at the conference. Women do not have to wear Abaya but should be dressed in conservative clothing (neck, arms and legs covered with loosely fitted clothing).
