Introduction:
KSC has partnered with Saudi Electric Services Polytechnic (SESP) to provide training to in-Kingdom engineers to provide highly qualified personnel for the renewable energy sector.
Solar PV Installation course emphasizes on installing grid-direct solar systems and offers practical experience with a variety of frequently used systems. The foundation of this course is a thorough understanding of the various PV system components, system topologies, and applications. Other topics covered in the course include site analysis, system installation, array configuration, electrical install components like wiring, overcurrent protection, and grounding, a thorough examination of module and inverter specifications and characteristics, mounting techniques for various roof structure and ground mount configurations, and an introduction to safely and effectively commissioning grid-direct PV systems.
Delivery and Duration:
The Solar PV Installation course will be taught by KAUST Solar Center Instructional Team and will involve both indoor and outdoor practical exercises in addition to classroom lectures. To evaluate student learning, daily quizzes and exercises will be given.
Sunday through Thursday, 9 am to 3 pm, will make up the five-day course. After completing the course, students will receive a certificate that allows them to take the SEC certification exam.

Course Outcomes
The goal of the course is to create a fundamental understanding of the core concepts necessary to work with all PV systems, including system components, site analysis, PV module criteria, mounting solutions, safety, and commissioning according to local KSA regulations.
