Where is the conference located?

 

The “KAUST Research Conference: Emerging concepts in solar energy conversion – from computation to implementation” will take place at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), in the Auditorium between Building 4 and 5.

KAUST is located in Thuwal, which is one hour north of Jeddah. Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) is accessible from many main international flight hubs, including Frankfurt, London, New York and Washington D.C.

Is there a business center at the conference venue?

 

Yes, KAUST Library is open 24 hours and offers workstations and a quiet space for work and study. Wi-Fi is also accessible across the KAUST campus.

 

What should I wear at KAUST?

 

February at KAUST is likely to be warm but pleasantly breezy. Smart casual attire is required at the conference. Women do not have to wear an abaya but should be dressed in conservative clothing (loosely fitted clothing with neck, arms and legs covered).

 

Will my photo be taken?

 

Photos may be taken throughout the event which may be used on our website or other KAUST social media. If you have any objections to your image being used, please ensure you advise the registration team.
How do I register for the conference?

 

KAUST students, researchers and staff will be required to sign up in advance here.

In Kingdom applicants are highly encouraged. You can apply to attend by sending an e-mail to ksc@kaust.edu.sa including a copy of your CV with details of your area of study/research together with a list of your publications. Please also include an abstract (min 500 words) for your proposed scientific poster presentation or a pdf of your poster.

Due to Saudi visa requirements and space constraints, we can accept out of Kingdom attendees only in highly exceptional circumstances and by invitation only. 
When is the poster session?

 

The poster session will be held on Monday, February 10th at the University Library. Please follow these important dates for the poster session:

Monday, February 10:

4:00 - 6:00 PM: Poster setup at the University Library.

7:00 - 9:00 PM: Poster session and judges viewing.

 

What is the guideline for the poster session?

 

- Poster should be in portrait layout and A0 size (841mm x 1189mm or 33.11" x 46.81").

- Presenters are expected to be by their posters during the poster session to answer questions from judges and attendees.

- Participants are responsible for removing and collecting their poster after the conference. Unclaimed poster will be discarded.
