The “KAUST Research Conference: Accelerating Solar Energy Research towards meeting Vision 2030 Goals” will be held from May 9-10, 2022 in the auditorium between Building 4 and 5 on the KAUST campus. This conference will cover a diverse array of research topics which can play a pivotal role in transforming the Kingdom and the world for a clean energy future, in line with the objectives set under the Vision 2030. Key topics which will be the focus of discussion include:

  • Silicon-perovskite tandem solar cells
  • Materials for solar fuels
  • High efficiency organic photovoltaics
  • Development of novel interlayer materials

This event will capitalize on the prowess of solar technology research experts from across the globe and unite them with key local stakeholders and academicians to discuss the progress made, particularly in the fields of photovoltaics and photo-catalysis. This rigorous discussion will serve to open new avenues for future interdisciplinary research, thus paving a pathway for the Kingdom to emerge as a leader in research and development of the state-of-the-art solar energy technologies and metamorphosing science into contemporary applications for the benefit of the whole of humanity.

The technical program will be held on Monday, May 9 and Tuesday, May 10, 2022. The conference program will also present an opportunity for PhD students and postdocs to present their research work in a poster presentation on the evening of Monday, May 9, 2022 in the University Library.
