Efficient, stable inverted single-crystal and polycrystalline perovskite solar cells

In contrast to conventional (n-i-p) perovskite solar cells, inverted (p-i-n) PSCs offer enhanced stability and integrability with tandem solar cell architectures, which are garnering increasing commercial interest. Here, we discuss our work addressing key challenges hindering the progress of p-i-n perovskite solar cells, both polycrystalline and single-crystal devices. These challenges include energy level misalignment with transport layers, imbalanced transport of photo-generated electrons and holes, and significant defects within the perovskite film or surfaces.
