Scalable perovskite module and its applications

Halide perovskites are attractive materials due to their superior characteristics: high absorption coefficient, direct bandgap, high charge carrier mobility, solution processibility, defect tolerance, excellent luminous property, and facile synthesis. Based on these physical properties, halide perovskites are applied to many research areas, such as solar cells, displays, sensors, etc., and have exhibited outstanding performances; however, commercialization is delayed for several reasons. One of the reasons is a lack of film coating methods with high uniformity. The anti-solvent method is generally accepted for perovskite film fabrication; however, it is optimized for the spin-coating process, which is hardly applicable to large area coating processes such as slot-die coating, ink-jet coating, blade coating, bar coating, etc.

Here, I focused on the way to scale up the mass production of the perovskite module, and its commercial applications will be discussed.
