Dr. Ahmed Balawi is an R&D Manager within ACWA Power's Innovation & New Technology Department, renowned for his expertise in solar photovoltaics (PV) and green hydrogen. With a focus on integrating technologies for maximum impact and developing simulation algorithms, Dr. Balawi spearheads collaborative efforts with the research ecosystem to advance new technologies and foster synergy within the industry. His extensive research background includes evaluating emerging technologies, setting the agenda for new product assessments, and establishing strategic networks to drive innovation. Dr. Balawi earned his Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering (MSE) from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), where he explored concepts for evaluating organic photovoltaic technology performance. Prior to his doctoral studies, he obtained his MEng degree in MSE from the University of Toronto and his B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).
