Omid is the chairman and CEO of INDEOtec SA, a Swiss-based company commercializing innovative cluster equipment for high-efficiency solar cells, he is an international expert in innovation management particularly for thin film deposition manufacturing machines and is the inventor of the PECVD-Mirror concept.
He joined Oerlikon in 1999 as Technology Transfer Manager and responsible for new production lines ramp up in Asia (Taiwan, South Korea, China) for the FPD business. He then became Innovation Manager and Global Product Manager PECVD responsible for new generation machines development and commercialization. Omid and his team have developed, 2001-2005, two different generations of PECVD tools, including the Kai 1200, which later became the heart of the thin film silicon turn-key solution from Oerlikon Solar.
In 2006, Omid joined Edwards Vacuum as the GM Solar Business, where he was responsible to define and manage the global solar strategy and business growth for the company and was instrumental to bring the segment annual turn-over to 100 m$ range in 2010.
Omid took over INDEOtec SA in 2011 with the goal of bringing/implementing innovations in the equipment business.
Omid has degrees in Solid State Physics and Materials Sciences, a Ph.D. in thin film technology from EPFL and MBA from Rotman School of Management, Toronto - Canada.
