Saudi standard developer, Eng. Wael Al-Theyab is working as the official spokesperson and director of the Electrical and Electronic Standard Department at Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO). Wael obtained his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Since he started in the field of standardization, he has been passionate about what standards can provide for sustainable solutions to the world and how standards are considered a lifeline and an effective tool to achieve sustainability and safety, ensure performance, and achieve efficiency at the level of products and services. His journey of passion began as a developer of the standard until he became secretary of several technical committees at the national and regional levels, with a genuine interest in quality infrastructure and institutional excellence.  

Since he started in the field of standardization, he has:

-Gained experience in developing the legislative infrastructure for PV energy and electric vehicles.

-Gained experience in laying the infrastructure for electric vehicles.

- Contributed towards building a standard issuing strategy at the national level.

- Become certified in Quality Management and Institutional Excellence.

- Obtained three awards; two in the field of technical work and project management, and one at the international level in artificial intelligence.
