Dr. Jhonathan Prieto Rojas received his bachelor degree in Electronics Engineering in 2009 from the National University of Colombia. In 2007 he was recipient of the DAAD Young Engineers Scholarship including an exchange year at the Technology University of Munich (TUM). In 2009 he joined King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), where he received the KAUST Graduate Fellowship and Provost Award. He completed his Master’s degree and PhD degree from KAUST in Electrical Engineering in 2010 and 2014, respectively. Dr. Rojas joined King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) as Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department from Fall 2015. His main research focus includes novel micro- and nanofabrication techniques for energy harvesting and flexible/stretchable/wearable electronics, as well as design, development, and characterization of novel structures for diverse applications. Some of his awards include The KFUPM Excellence in Teaching Award (2020), First Prize at the Hope Hackaton, Digital Health Track (2020), and Second Price Winner Award at the 50K Energy Efficiency Challenge (2022).
