20 August, 2015

The American Chemical Society (ACS), the largest scientific society in the world, has announced the winners of the 2016 ACS National Awards.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Jean-Luc Bredas, the Center Director of SPERC has been selected for the ACS Award in the Chemistry of Materials, sponsored by E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co.

Being one of the most highly cited chemists in the world, Dr. Bredas has been conducting groundbreaking theoretical research into new organic materials that can be exploited for novel generations of devices based on organics used as semiconductors. Such devices include light-emitting diodes for displays, field-effect transistors and organic solar cells.

He will be honored at the Awards Ceremony to be held on March 15, 2016, in conjunction with the 251st ACS National Meeting in San Diego, CA.

Congratulations to Dr. Jean-Luc Bredas for this accomplishment! We are proud to have you as part of the center.
