01 July, 2018
Following the success of last year's summer lecture series, KSC is pleased to announce its 2018 summer school.
In addition to contributions from KSC faculty and researchers, we're delighted to have won support from Prof. Miro Zeman and Prof. Olindo Isabella from TU Delft's Photovoltaic Materials and Devices Group. In addition to their extensive research experience in the filed of photovoltaics, Professors Zeman and Isabella have successfully established TU Delft's PV Systems Summer School (PVSSS) which is focused on delivering engineering and practical aspects of PV Systems.
The 3-day KSC summer school opens with a series of lectures from KSC faculty and researchers followed by contributions from our guest speakers and laboratory sessions:
July 10, 8am-12pm (B5, 5220)
8.00 – 8.45 Prof. Iain McCulloch, "Design of organic semiconductors"
8.45 – 9.30 Dr. Nicola Gasparini, "Electrical characterization tools for OPV"
9.30 – 9.45 Coffee break
9.45 – 10.30 Dr. Yuliar Firdaus, "Organic PVs"
10.30 – 11.15 Dr. Julien Gorenflot, "(Organic) semiconductors: probing the excitation"
11.15 – 12.00 Prof. Stefaan De Wolf, "Silicon solar cells"
July 11 & 12, 8am-12pm (B5, 5220)
Prof. Miro Zeeman & Prof. Olindo Isabella
The above lectures are open to all KSC members.
A limited number of places are available for afternoon introductory sessions in the KSC laboratories (registration only):

Biography: Prof. dr. Miro Zeman received his Ph.D. degree from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava in 1989 for research on amorphous silicon materials and devices. In 1990 he joined the Delft University of Technology where he carried out research on thin-film silicon solar cells. In 2009 he was appointed Full professor at the Delft University of Technology where he leads the Photovoltaic Materials and Devices group and is the head of the Electrical Sustainable Energy department. Miro Zeman is a leading expert in light management, modelling, and development of novel materials and nanostructures for silicon-based solar cells.
Biography: Dr. ir. Olindo Isabella obtained a PhD from Delft University of Technology for his pioneering work on advanced light management applied to thin-film silicon solar cells. He is currently Associate Professor in the Photovoltaic Materials and Devices group at Delft University of Technology. His areas of expertise cover opto-electrical modelling, light management techniques in solar cells, high efficiency c-Si solar cells and design and realization of environment-integrated PV systems. Alongside with his research, Olindo is responsible for the PV Laboratory and gives lectures on PV systems
