KAUST’s Entrepreneurship Center, in collaboration with the Innovation Fund, held the KAUST Startup Accelerator Showcase on Thursday, March 10, 2016. In this event, startups from various sectors pitched their ideas and showed how they have benefited from KAUST’s accelerator programs and its startup ecosystem.

SPERC's Marios Neophytou and Mindaugas Kirkus from Prof. McCulloch’s group were joined in this showcase by two other members from CCRC, Deanna Lacoste and Aurelie Chirez. Their team, LEVEL5, won the first place in the Kingdom Impact Award category worth 20,000 USD.

LEVEL5 is the first SPERC startup company with currently two pending patents. The idea of LEVEL5 is to remove dust from solar panels by generating airflow without any moving parts.
