KSC expertise spans the value chain in solar energy from molecule synthesis to module prototype testing, including solar fuel and solar thermal. Our project portfolio addresses three key directions for future solar applications: to improve the efficiency, to add new functionality and to create lower cost material.

We classify our activities into several themes below:

Solution-processed photovoltaics is a promising renewable energy technology with untapped potential.

High-Efficiency Perovskite/Perovskite Tandem Solar Cells.

Project 1: Perovskite-Silicon Tandem PEC Device with Atomically Engineered Interfaces; Project 2: Photocatalysis using triplet-triplet-annihilation-based energy up-conversion; Project 3: Nano-reactors for water electrolysis using renewable energy.

The power conversation efficiency (PCE) of organic photovoltaics (OPVs) has been advancing rapidly in recent years with record values now exceeding 17 and 18% for multi- and single-junction OPVs, respectively.

KSC has established a set of instructions within its standard operation procedures for lead safety in our labs. Moreover, new KSC lab users are instructed to take an online training and successfully pass a quiz before given access to the labs.
